Richard Erwin Rood [1] (December 7, 1958 – April 20, 1999), better known by his ring name " Ravishing " Rick Rude, was an American professional wrestler who performed for many promotions, including World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
Richard Erwin Rood (* 7. Dezember 1958 in St. Peter, Minnesota, USA; † 20. April 1999 in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA) war ein US-amerikanischer Wrestler, der unter seinem Ringnamen Rick Rude bekannt wurde. Rood war verheiratet und hatte mit seiner Frau Michelle drei Kinder.

16. Nov. 2020 · Rick Rude was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 by Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. In yet another tragedy, the year before he was inducted, Rude’s youngest son, Cody, was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 19.
Ravishing Rick defeated Ultimate Warrior for the Intercontinental Championship during his time in WWE before he jumped back to WCW in 1991. He made an instant impact, defeating Sting for the United States Championship within a month of his debut.

The news was broken first by Bleacher Report, who also revealed that Rude will be inducted by one of his greatest rivals, 2009 inductee Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.
