The city is located on a hill at an altitude of 358 metres at the confluence of the Ebro and Cidacos rivers, and has an area of 91.41 km². Calahorra is the second-largest city in La Rioja in population and importance, after the capital, Logroño. Its population is 23,923 people.
Calahorra es un municipio y ciudad de la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja, España, perteneciente a su comarca homónima, dentro de la Rioja Baja. Tiene 25 661 habitantes, 4 según los datos del INE a principios de 2022, una extensión de 91,41 km² y una densidad poblacional de 262,68 hab/km².
Présentation. La capitale de la région de la Rioja Basse excelle par sa production agricole et a ses racines dans l'Antiquité. Elle est siège du diocèse de Calahorra et La Calzada-Logroño qui dans le passé arrivait jusqu'à la mer Cantabrique .
Calahorra ist der wichtigste Ort des Landstrichs Rioja Baja und liegt auf einer Anhöhe über dem Cidacos-Tal. Hauptwirtschaftszweig ist der Obst- und Gemüsehandel. Im historischen Zentrum Calahorras sind zahlreiche Spuren seiner Vergangenheit erhalten, etwa die spätgotische Kathedrale, die ein Portal mit Alabasterfiguren aus dem 15. Jahrhundert hat.
