Tirah, also spelled Terah (Pashto: تیراہ), also called the Tirah Valley (د تیرا دره), is a mountainous tract located in the Orakzai District and the southern part of the Khyber District, lying between the Khyber Pass and the Khanki Valley in Pakistan.
The Tirah campaign, often referred to in contemporary British accounts as the Tirah expedition, was an Indian frontier campaign from September 1897 to April 1898. Tirah is a mountainous tract of country in what was formerly known as Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Tirah, mountainous tract in west-central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. It lies on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border between the Khyber Pass and Khanki Valley, northwest of Kohat town. It is inhabited mainly by Afrīdī and Ōrakzay Pashtun tribes. Tirah comprises a rugged area of 600–700 square.
