Was ist „Humble Pie“? Die amerikanische Metapher für eine demütigende Entschuldigung, die (gekochte) Krähe isst, hat ein viel älteres britisches Äquivalent, das bescheidene Torte isst. Sowohl die gekochte Krähe als auch die fragwürdigen Zutaten dieser Pastete deuten auf ein Armenmahl hin und verleihen der Mischung so ein Element der Demut.
