Mike Pender's Searchers contains lead singer and guitarist Mike Pender, formerly of The Searchers. Pender left The Searchers in December 1985 hoping to explore new musical directions while preserving the classic 12-string guitar style that he helped to popularise.
Released in May 2008 'The Very Best of The Searchers' features both the voice and guitar work of Mike Pender on ALL 25 tracks! This TV promoted album very quickly went as high as Number 8 in the British National Charts, giving Mike a Silver Disc, proving that 60s classic songs live forever.
The Searchers. In his early years, Pender worked at a printing company (Charles Birchall & Sons (Liverpool) Ltd.) as a day job in between playing nightly gigs with the Searchers. According to Pender, he is responsible for choosing the band name for the Searchers.

The Searchers wurden 1960 in Liverpool gegründet. Die ursprüngliche Besetzung bestand aus John McNally, Mike Pender (bürgerlich: Michael John Prendergast), Tony Jackson und Norman McGarry. Letzterer wurde allerdings kurz darauf durch Chris Curtis ersetzt.
