We charge an application fee of £100 but the number of placements offered is dependent on your timing and preference of specialty. Some specialties are more popular than others and availability is also dependent on the teaching commitments of departments at certain times of our timetable.

You’ll find a range of durations available for medical school electives abroad, but keep in mind your budget for program fees and other costs.

19. Feb. 2024 · Elective fees differed substantially—depending on the elective destinations and time point. Median elective fees were highest in the United States of America (€ 1875 for a 4-week elective between 2018–2020), followed by the Republic of South Africa (€ 400) and Australia (€ 378).
Placements. The University of Queensland (UQ) Medical School assists visiting medical students with elective placements.
The School of Medicine, in conjunction with our partner NHS hospitals, is able to consider applications for clinical attachment elective study periods. Due to high numbers of applications, Clinical Elective placements are restricted to a maximum period of six weeks per student and only one placement per student.
