Welcome to Mercy College website, particularly if it is your first introduction to our secondary school. Our school is a Ceist Voluntary Catholic Secondary School for girls located in Sligo town in the North West of Ireland.
School History. The sisters of Mercy came to Sligo in 1846, some 68 years after the birth of Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Mercy Order and just five years after her death in 1841. Sligo town in 1846 presented a bleak prospect.
Our Curriculum. Each pupil is valued in her own right and every effort is made to ensure that they receive the academic support they need. Our academic system is directed at producing young people according to a specific profile drawn from the characteristics of a Mercy Education.

Apply To Mercy College. First Year 2024 Applications. There are 3 steps to enrolment for the academic year 2024/25. Download and complete an Application Form and return to Mercy College before 27th November 2023. Receive a letter of offer by 4th December 2023.
