Big Blue is the official mascot for the Old Dominion Monarchs. The nickname and mascot for the "Monarchs" was adopted just prior to ODU's split from the College of William & Mary system in 1961. In 1971, Old Dominion officially crowned Big Blue as their mascot to represent symbols of pride and courage for the expanding athletic program.

The Blue BIG Maskot is an Exclusive pet in Pet Simulator X. It could’ve been obtained by completing the Dress Up! Achievement, which requires the player's avatar to copy BuildIntoGames' avatar (The leading developer of the Pet Simulator series).
•Obtaining this pet is extremely difficult, due to BuildIntoGames wearing an expensive limited item, the Orange Ninja Headband of All Earth's Fire.
•This pet is a re-skin of the BIG Maskot.
24. Apr. 2024 · Back in the mid-1970s, USU experimented with a live animal mascot, a feisty, white bull named GUS — an acronym for “Go Utah State” — who was painted blue before athletic events. But GUS did too much damage to the grass field at Romney Stadium (despite the addition of rubber boots), and he was soon retired.
