Cliffwood Beach, located in Aberdeen Township, was a popular resort until multiple hurricanes from 1954 through 1960 destroyed its boardwalk and amusement areas. The beach has reverted to its natural state. Aberdeen Township is a township situated on the Jersey Shore in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
The beachfront was redone through a joint venture by Old Bridge Township, New Jersey and Middlesex County Parks Department. It extends approximately one mile from the Old Bridge Police substation south, to the Aberdeen Township neighborhood of Cliffwood Beach, and runs parallel with New Jersey Route 35.
