Plumstead, eigentlich Plumstead Common, ist ein Arbeiterviertel im Stadtteil Plumstead der britischen Hauptstadt London und befindet sich im Stadtbezirk Greenwich. Der 2009 entdeckte Belmarsh Trackway wurde als hölzerne Trasse zum Überqueren eines Moores in Plumstead auf etwa 4.000 v. Chr. datiert.
Plumstead was developed on the site of an old VOC Military Camp some 13km South of Cape Town and, by 1823, was already a growing Village. The Cape Town-Wynberg suburban Railway reached Muizenburg on 15 December 1882, and included a Railway Station at Plumstead.
