Fairport Convention are an English folk rock band, formed in 1967 by guitarists Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol, bassist Ashley Hutchings and drummer Shaun Frater (with Frater replaced by Martin Lamble after their first gig). [1]
FAIRPORT CONVENTION recorded a Farewell - Live -Album in 1979, 'Farewell, Farewell', but continued to record throughout the 80's and 90's with changing line-ups a series of Traditional-Folk-Rock records. 'Unhalfbricking', 'Liege and Lief', 'Full House' and 'Live Convention' are highly recommended.
