Als „Federalists“ (engl. für Föderalisten) oder „Federalist Party“ (Föderalistische Partei) bezeichnete sich im Ursprung jene Parteirichtung, welche die amerikanische Verfassung von 1787 unterstützte.
Die Federalist Party war Amerikas erste offizielle politische Partei. Es existierte von Anfang der 1790er bis Anfang der 1820er Jahre. Ihr einziges Mitglied, das als Präsident fungierte, war John Adams, der 1796 gewählt wurde. Andere Führer waren Alexander Hamilton, John Jay und John Marshall.
