Robert Desnos est un poète français du XXe siècle appartenant au mouvement du Surréalisme. Né en 1900, il adhère dans les années 30 à des mouvements antifascistes. Pendant la guerre, il écrit des poèmes engagés pour en dénoncer les atrocités. Il est déporté en 1944 et meurt en 1945.

He attended commercial college, then worked as a clerk before becoming a literary columnist for the newspaper Paris-Soir. He first published poems in the Dadaist magazine Littérature in 1919.
