13. Feb. 2023 · Wrightbus, a sustainable bus manufacturer, and Hygen Energy, a hydrogen producer, have announced plans for a multi-million pound green hydrogen project at the Ballymena site. The facility will produce enough clean energy to power 300 hydrogen buses a day in Northern Ireland and create 35 jobs.
2. März 2023 · Wrightbus, a County Antrim firm, has secured a £25.3m government investment to build zero-emission buses for use in England. The buses will be manufactured and assembled at its Ballymena factory, supporting jobs and decarbonisation.
27. Mai 2022 · The Ballymena-based manufacturer will supply up to 60 hydrogen-powered buses to RVK, an operator in Cologne, over the next two years. It is the first European order for Wrightbus since it was bought out of administration in 2019.

Wrightbus announced in February 2023 that it was planning to build a green hydrogen production facility on its Ballymena site in partnership with Hygen Energy, capable of producing enough hydrogen to fuel up to 300 buses per day with the option to triple its production in line with future demand for the fuel.
