Hermann Erbel [1] (born 18 November 1949), known professionally as Herman Rarebell, is a German musician, best known as the drummer for the hard rock band Scorpions from 1977 to 1996, during which time he played on eight studio albums.

Herman Rarebell began his life on the 18th of November 1949 in Saarbrucken, Germany, his zodiac sign being Scorpio. By the age of 12 his passion for drumming was so extreme that he would practice on anything available, including an old sloped chair.
The band name alone is an unmistakable indication of the journey that this new all-star trio has embarked on: classic rock music, melodic, powerful, contemporary, diverse, with just the right degree of toughness and a sure feel for gritty hooks.
26. Feb. 2022 · Herman Rarebell, von 1977 bis 1996 Schlagzeuger bei den SCORPIONS, stampfte während der Pandemie ein symphonisch orientiertes Projekt aus dem Boden. Als „Herman Rarebell: Scorpion’s Songs Symphonic“ erschien im Januar 2022 die passende Scheibe dazu, und ab Ende Februar soll es auf Tour gehen.
