Joan London (January 15, 1901 – January 18, 1971) was an American writer and the older of two daughters born to Jack London and his first wife, Elizabeth "Bess" Maddern London.
Her skill as a historian and writer came to fruition in this lively account of Jack London's times. After leaving Mayes, Joan became the publications editor and research librarian for the California Labor Federation.
Joan London also wrote editorials and brief articles on labor issues for The Voice of the Federation [Maritime Federation of the Pacific], The International Teamster, and Rank and File during the 1930s and 1960s. Several of her Letters to the Editor appeared in San Francisco papers.
