Prinz Carl Gustav, Herzog von Småland (25. August 1782 – 23. März 1783) war ein schwedischer Prinz und der Sohn von König Gustav III. von Schweden und Königin Sophia Magdalena. Er starb im Säuglingsalter.
Duke of Småland Carl Gustav (as painted by Gustaf Lundberg) Biography. Swedish royalty, the second son in the marriage of King Gustav III (1746–1792) and Queen Sophia Magdalena (1746-1813). He had one elder sibling, Gustav Adolph who would become King of Sweden.
The marriage produced two children: Crown Prince Gustav Adolf (1778–1837), and Prince Carl Gustav, Duke of Småland (1782–1783). For the consummation of the marriage, the king and queen requested actual physical instruction by Count Adolf Munck, reportedly because of anatomical problems of both spouses.
Prince Carl was Duke of Östergötland until 1937. After passing his school exams, he carried out his military training. In 1937, he relinquished his title and his succession rights when he married Countess Elsa von Rosen.
