In January, when Larry Ramos, the leader of the ’60s singing group The Association, became too sick to perform, he asked his younger brother Del Ramos to assume creative leadership of the band. The first real test came on May 9 at a North Carolina concert, nine days after Larry passed away on April 30.
The current version of the band is led by Jules Alexander and Jim Yester, as well as Del Ramos, brother of Larry Ramos, and Jordan Cole, son of Brian Cole. During the 1970s and 80s, the band went through numerous line-up changes, with, at one point, only one original member in the band.

11. Mai 2014 · Hawaiian-born singer and musician Larry Ramos, who spent most of his life in show business and reached international fame as a member of The Association, died in Clarkston, Wash., on April 30, after suffering poor health following a 2011 heart ailment. He was 72.
