Steve Cropper, né Stephen Lee Cropper le 21 octobre 1941 à Dora, Missouri, est un guitariste, auteur-compositeur et producteur américain de soul, funk et rhythm and blues, connu principalement en tant que musicien de studio pour le label Stax, comme membre fondateur des groupes The Mar-Keys et Booker T. and the M.G.'s, et pour avoir participé aux Blues Brothers.
Steve Cropper. Actor: Blues Brothers 2000. If not the most influential guitarist in the Memphis soul music scene, Steve Cropper is definitely near the top. He was a member of Booker T. & the M.G.s', wrote songs for and performed with Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin and Sam & Dave (he's the Steve referred to when they say "Play it, Steve!"
