14. Apr. 2016 · He was born Floyd August Guilbeau Sept. 26, 1937, in Sunset, Louisiana, to a musical family. He began playing the fiddle as a young teenager. His first band, Four Young Men, released a top-five country hit, “You’re the Reason,” after singer Bobby Edwards joined the band. The song also reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 1961.
