27. Aug. 2021 · A lawsuit against Mills has halted proceedings until at least September 3. Last June, Northeastern University in Boston and Mills College in Oakland, California, announced a planned merger. The East Coast institution known for its co-op programs is throwing a lifeline to a West Coast liberal arts college for women that is struggling to survive.
Mills College, an autonomous liberal arts college for women & gender-neutral students is home to a total of 961 students including 609 UG students and 352 PG students. Presently, international students from over 13 countries all over the world are enrolled in Mills College Programs .
17. Feb. 2022 · Hannah Bluhm, a 2000 alumna of Mills who opposed the merger, said she wishes that Mills had merged with another women’s college. She felt safe at Mills, she said, and emboldened to take risks. “I accidentally took a computer programming class when I was a freshman, and we didn’t have a computer growing up,” she said.
