Harry Payne Whitney, a yachtsman and former businessman, died Sept. 18 after heart surgery at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Me. He was 60 years old.Mr. Whitney maintained a home in Manhattan, but lived much of the last 10 years on his boat in ports in Long Island, Maine and North Carolina.
