The Edmund S. Muskie Professional Fellowship Program is a professional development program funded by the U.S. Department of State.Since 2015, it has provided emerging leaders of the Fulbright Program from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia with the opportunity to gain real-world experience that both complements and enriches their graduate studies in the United States.
Edmund S. Muskie was the author of the autobiographical Journeys, published in 1972, and received more than 30 honorary degrees from colleges and universities throughout the country. He died on March 26, 1996, in Washington, D.C. and a memorial service was held at the Bates Chapel, April 28, 1996. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
