Hjalmar Schacht (Hjalmar Horace Greeley Schacht) (født 22. januar 1877, død 3. juni 1970). Han blev født i Tinglev i Sønderjylland , dengang tysk, som søn af forretningsmanden William Leonhard Ludwig Maximillian Schacht og den danske baronesse Constanze Justine Sophie von Eggers.

Hjalmar Schacht war ab 1944 in verschiedenen Konzentrationslagern inhaftiert und gelangte schließlich in das Lager Niederdorf in Südtirol. Dort, im abgelegenen Pustertal, geriet er schließlich in die Hände der amerikanischen Streitkräfte. Schnell musste er feststellen, dass es sich nicht um seine Befreiung handelte.
