Juli 2017 · Het bijzondere van Death Express is dat Little Barrie, meer dan in het verleden, teruggrijpt op de psychedelische bluesrock uit de late jaren 60 (met naast invloeden van Cream ook hier en daar een vleugje Traffic), maar hier en daar toch ook doet denken aan 90s bands als Primal Scream en Oasis en de uit dezelfde tijd stammende blues explosie van Jon Spencer en zijn band.
Nottingham’s Little Barrie are the main band of Barrie Cadogan, who is also a regular guest guitarist for the likes of Paul Weller and Primal Scream. That gives you a hint at the kind of guitar antics he gets up to on Death Express, the fifth Little Barrie album: hard rocking with a vintage 60’s flavour to it. Out on Non-Delux.
