About The Rippingtons. A hugely successful instrumental group led by guitarist Russ Freeman, the Rippingtons emerged in California in the late '80s playing a radio-friendly brand of contemporary jazz. The band's first album, 1987's Moonlighting, was a commercial success, buoyed by appearances from Kenny G and David Benoit.

The Art Pepper Quartet. The Art Pepper Quartet is an album by saxophonist Art Pepper featuring sessions from 1956 recorded for the Tampa label. Pepper’s Quartet are pianist Russ Freeman, bassist Ben Tucker and drummer Gary Frommer. [1] [2] The album was reissued on CD in the Original Jazz Classics series with bonus tracks in 1994.
