  5. Some History of Miami Beach, Beach High, and the Alumni Association. Miami Beach High opened in 1926. It was originally located at 1424 Drexel Avenue, in the heart of the South Beach district. It is one of the oldest high schools in Miami-Dade County, trailing only Miami Senior High School (1903). It was designed by August Geiger.

  6. The Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Program at Miami Beach Senior High School, Miami Beach, Florida was established on July 1st, 2000. This makes this program one of the eldest NJROTC program in South Florida. The program is currently assigned to Area 7 and it is a 4-year course of instruction.

  7. Students can only take courses after regular school hours, in addition to the courses they are enrolled in at their high school. In order to qualify for dual enrollment, students must have a 3.0 unweighted grade point average (GPA) and meet all the college/university criteria for admission. All M-DCPS senior high schools offer DE opportunities.
