1. Nov. 2019 · Sandhurst has been the Royal Military Academy since its founding in 1812. There are several magnificent buildings -- the Old College in particular. The New College is also a nice building but unfortunately the more modern buildings are brutalist concrete pillar looking things. The ponds were dug by French POWs from Napoleonic times.

Historia. Grundades som Royal Military College i Great Marlow 1801, flyttades till Sandhurst 1812, stängdes 1939, men fungerade som träningscentrum för kadetter under andra världskriget, och slogs efter kriget samman med Royal Military Academy i Woolwich, grundad 1741, till The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst som öppnades 1947.
