The museum offers a permanent exhibition of the works of the painter Paul Gauguin (replicas). Outside the museum hall is a reconstruction of the "pleasure house", where the artist lived, whose main exhibition wall is covered with carved wooden panels, reproducing the original work of Paul Gauguin, as well as an arts and crafts center.

Oceania Cruise Line had not ever gone to this Hiva Oa before, but visited the island for 2 days to get out of gale force winds and high waves.
