12. Dez. 2022 · Kenneth Bruce Gorelick (born June 5, 1956), better known by his stage name Kenny G, is an American adult contemporary and smooth jazz saxophonist. His fourth album, Duotones, brought him breakthrough success in 1986. Kenny G is the biggest-selling instrumental musician of the modern era, with global sales totaling more than 75 million albums.
The Chipmunks performed a smooth jazz version of the song with Kenny G on the saxophone for their 1994 album A Very Merry Chipmunk. They also performed a duet version with Jaci Velasquez for her 2001 album Christmas in which Alvin tries to flirt with Jaci in Spanish and changes the lyric "I want a hula hoop" to "I want a date with you."

Kenny G's nasally woodwinds are a perfect complement to the Chipmunks sound, and the reworking of their "Chipmunk Song" seems almost new because of it. Celine teaches the critters a lesson in French with "Petit Papa Noel," while Patty Loveless puts some twang in the Chipmunks' furry hides with "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree."
