Dieser Film ist entsprechend nicht der beste, in dem Barbara Stanwyck mitgespielt hat (an der Seite von Gary Cooper übrigens), ist aber auch keine totale Zeitverschwendung. Die Spielerin (1934) „Die Spielerin“ ist bitte nicht zu verwechseln mit dem weitaus bekannteren Barbara Stanwyck Film „Die Falschspielerin“ aus dem Jahr 1941, wenngleich man das im ersten Moment vermuten könnte.
