About this movie. Andrew Largeman (Zach Braff) returns to his hometown for the funeral of his clinically depressed mother, a journey that reconnects him with some of his past friends. Because the trip coincides with his decision to stop taking his powerful antidepressants, he also begins to reconnect with himself.

Durchgeknallt, aber doch irgendwie liebenswert sind die Figuren, die die Kleinstadt im "Garden State" New Jersey bevölkern. Was auch etwas aussagt über die Perspektive des Films, der sich eben nicht lustig macht über all die exzentrischen Charaktere, die so anders sind als der Protagonist des Films, der Großstädter Andrew "Large" Largeman.
