Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas didn't have a lot of hit singles, but they did have a few that were very important charted singles that followed the appeal of The Beatles back in 1964. This collection has 29 songs from Billy J. Kramer, but realistically, they only had six Hot 100 singles, and of course they are all here: Little Children (#7) 1964.
As such, it was a departure from the traditional love songs previously recorded by Kramer (sometimes supplied by Lennon & McCartney). When offered another Lennon and McCartney song, " One and One Is Two ", for his next single by the manager of both groups, Brian Epstein , Kramer turned it down and chose "Little Children" instead, after a search for suitable material from music publishers.
