26. Feb. 2024 · Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley (1962) Released September 1, 1962, on Capitol Records, this album has Cannonball on alto sax, brother Nat Adderley on cornet, Sam Jones playing bass, Joe Zawinul on piano and Louis Hayes on drums.
Nancy's vocals are like a third instrument on this album and Cannonball really shines on this album. They are a perfect match; my copy has some pops and crackles that I will try to remove with a good cleaning, but if you going to buy this record make sure you get a Near Mint Copy as the music and vocals are so beautiful any background noise certainly takes away from the beauty of this recording.
