[14] The boiling point of water is typically considered to be 100 °C (212 °F; 373 K), especially at sea level.
The normal boiling point of ethyl alcohol is 78.5 o C (i.e., a liquid at room temperature). Although dipole-dipole forces and London dispersion forces also exist between ethyl alcohol molecules, the strong hydrogen bonding interactions are responsible for the much higher normal boiling point compared to methyl ether.
