I actually noticed that his voice had changed from the very moment I met him, but I never thought that it was a different actor. I could tell the speed and excitement of Mordin's voice was toned down, but not enough to dislike it. I barely noticed it thought, great work by the replacement actor.
“I don't know why Michael Beattie didn't do the voice of Mordin Solus in ME3, but given that Mordin was a VERY popular character in ME2, and the franchise is huge, and the third game was projected to be very popular, it's reasonable to assume that either Mr. Beattie or his agent(s) asked for more money, and the producers were either unable or unwilling to comply.”
