Constructor University (previously called Jacobs University and International University Bremen) was founded in 1999 with the support of the University of Bremen, Rice University in Houston, Texas, and the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. This year the university got preliminary state recognition by the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

   5. Sept. 2023 · On September 1st, Constructor University rang in its first academic year under its new name and brand. With accolades and inspiring words from its community, the university welcomed around 600 students with up to 100 different nations to start their academic careers in Bremen. New faculty members were introduced and extraordinary students and professors were honored.

   At Constructor University we offer accommodation on campus in one of our four residential colleges. All colleges have shared dining, studying, and recreation areas, while on all floors there is a separate kitchen to prepare a meal and store food. Overall, the university offers accommodation for up to 1,250 students in 600 apartments.

   Extension of studies – tuition fees. 20% tuition fee will be charged for up to two semesters beyond the standard period of study, and 50% tuition fee will be charged for extensions as of the third semester beyond the standard period of study.
