Holdorf is a municipality in the district of Vechta, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 20 km southwest of Vechta , and 35 km north of Osnabrück . It is the native homeland of the Holdorf clan, who have since settled in Denmark.
The tilia leaves in the upper represent the three former municipalities Bassum, Freudenberg and Loge who built the new city of Bassum in 1896. The mural crown, symbolises the 13th century Freudenburg castle and the city rights as well and two horses as supporters stand for the belonging to Lower Saxony.
