22. Sept. 2017 · THOR #5837. New Chateau 31E (and 23U vs. 31E) We just upsized from our 2017 Thor Chateau 23U to a 2018 Thor Chateau 31E. We are just a family of 3, so we didn’t really need anything bigger than the 23U, but we have 2 big dogs and wanted more interior space, and a more private bedroom. I also wanted leveling jacks and a power driver’s seat.
12. Sept. 2024 · THOR #12751. We did the Alaska Your Way 62 Day Fantasy Tours Caravan last year. The Alaska Your Way Tour is a bit less structured. You have time to do your own thing. There are optional activities you can participate in with the group but you can be totally on your own 75% of the time. You can eat when you want.

Sept. 2024 · My best advice regardless if you travel alone or with a caravan, make sure your rig is well maintained, has good tires, is not overloaded (less than the recommendation) and take your time. (70 MPH is way too fast for many stretches.) The Alaska highway is long and can be unforgiving.

For us in central Illinois , a trip like that at 300 miles a day would be about 2 mounths long. Maybe even longer ,with 2-3 day stops. So.., traveling in a caravan sounds intriguing.
16. Mai 2024 · Automotive paint cost has doubled in cost over the last 6 years. Shop labor rate is $145 per hour in San Antonio. Five years ago I had the left rear quarter replaced on my truck. Total cost of the sheet metal was $233. Total cost of the repair was $8,965 for welding, prep and two color paint match.
30. Aug. 2024 · When we did our caravan to Alaska last year, many areas in western Canada had no cellular coverage and coverage in Alaska was limited mostly to the areas with towns / cities. About 2 weeks into our trip and people in the Caravan seeing that we could make phone calls, have interest access and stream TV channels, several people ordered Starlink and had it shipped to our next location.

4. Mai 2024 · THOR #13932. Two years of gen 2 starlink. Snow average of 72 inches, somtimes 30 inches on the ground, biblical rain, 60mph winds. Temps from -10°f to 111° f in the shade, 6550ft altitude, ungodly uv at times. (yup, it's paradise) My starlink is held down with concrete pavers on our roof.
