"Smokin' Aces" ist zwar ein durchgehend knallharter Actionfilm, bei dem mit Blut nicht gespart wurde, dennoch ist es schade, dass viele der (liebenswerten) Charaktere es nicht bis ans Ende des Films schaffen. Auch Star Ben Affleck ist schnell weg vom Fenster und es war, laut Aussage im Making-Of der DVD, sein 1. Film, in dem er so schnell gestorben ist.

Filmkritik zu Smokin’ Aces. Für eine Million Dollar Kopfgeld interessieren sich natürlich viele professionelle Killer – Joe Carnahan lässt sie in Smokin’ Aces alle in einem Hotel aufeinander treffen. Das ergibt eine ziemlich laute und schwarzhumorige Mischung, die allerdings zum Ende hin eine ganz andere Richtung nimmt.
