Nelson W. Aldrich, born in 1841 in Foster, Rhode Island, started building his fortune while rising through the ranks of Waldron and Wightman, a leading Rhode Island wholesale grocer. He entered politics in 1869, and was elected to the United States Senate in 1881. He laid the groundwork for what would later be the Federal Reserve Act.
Winthrop W. Aldrich (1917) Winthrop Williams Aldrich (* 2.November 1885 in Providence, Rhode Island; † 25. Februar 1974 in New York City) war ein US-amerikanischer Bankmanager, Bankier und Diplomat, der unter anderem zwischen 1934 und 1953 Vorstandsvorsitzender der Chase National Bank sowie von 1953 bis 1957 Botschafter der Vereinigten Staaten im Vereinigten Königreich war.
Winthrop W. Aldrich (1885–1974), ein weiterer Sohn von Pearce Truman Chapman und Nelson W. Aldrich, wurde Bankier bei der Chase Manhattan Bank (zuletzt Vorstandsmitglied) und Botschafter der Vereinigten Staaten in Großbritannien.
