Who we are. Sacred Heart Parish Battersea is a parish of the Archdiocese of Southwark in the care of the Salesians of Don Bosco. We are a diverse multicultural Catholic community covering a small geographical area with a big heart; from Clapham Junction train station, north to the river Thames, west to Plough Road and east as far as Culvert Road.
Who is St John Bosco. St John Bosco is remembered as a man who dedicated his life to the service of abandoned young people. Over 150 years ago he challenged the way young people were treated in the desperate poverty that existed at that time in the city of Turin, Italy. John Bosco created an order in the Catholic Church, called the Salesians.
