The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, commonly known simply as Sandhurst, is one of several military academies of the United Kingdom and is the British Army's initial officer training centre.
Based in Surrey, it is a 43-piece symphonic wind band incorporating The Band of the Royal Logistic Corps and The Band of the Royal Corps of Signals. Its main roles include providing musical support at passing out parades in the surrounding areas, such as Army Training Centre Pirbright and Sovereign’s parades for the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
The Sandhurst Medal was introduced in 2016 to recognise the extraordinary achievement of those International Cadets who successfully complete the Regular Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). In 2022, the Sandhurst Medal was extended to include those International Cadets, successfully completing the Commissioning Course Short (CCS).
