THE FAMILY DOGG. The Family Dogg is self explanatory. The 'Family' consists of five members, three boys and two girls, all solo vocalists who each `do their own thing' during the course of day to day existence, who get together for recording and other necessary purposes, to form a close-knit vocal harmony group unlike any other.
The Family Dogg also released the singles "Family Dog" / "The Storm" in 1967 (the latter is a song originally written by the Bee Gees in Australia) on the MGM label, and "Silly Grin" / "Couldn't Help It", and "Brown Eyed Girl" / "Let It Rain" in 1968; on the Fontana label. Their final release in 1976 was a cover version of "Uptown Uptempo Woman".

13. Juni 2014 · Yet one chapter of the Hammond legacy has never been properly anthologized until now: his tenure with the British pop group The Family Dogg. Cherry Red’s RPM label has just delivered A Way of Life: Anthology 1967-1976, named for the band’s U.K. Top 10 hit and including all of the band’s recordings on two CDs.
The Family Dogg were a British harmony pop act revolving around the talents of writer/singer/producers Steve Rowland, Albert Hammond and Mike Hazelwood. Rowland was an American actor who met Hammond in Spain. In 1966, they formed Family Dogg with Hazelwood and singer Christine Holmes. Family Dogg debuted with a stunning cover of the Bee Gees ...
