I don't get the hate for any of their records, honestly. Carver City had some really fucking awesome moments. Hellions on Parade, And She Never Returned, Imaginary Threats, Boardwalk Body, Karmaworks, and A#1 Roller Rager are all absolute bangers. Plagued By Images is probably the only song I just flat out dislike on the album.
Carver City is the supposable “return to form” for the band assumed from the 5 year writing process. People thought an issue was Roadrunner hindering their ideas, but nonetheless CKY has returned with an album fully their own…which is basically the problem. CKY have truly evolved with Carver City. Hellions on Parade - A very strong opening track with a brilliant opening riff. I can really picture the mosh pits at a CKY gig when I listen to this. It experiments with vocal harmony, which has a powerful effect on the song. It really sets the standards high for the rest of the album.
