Koool G Murder spielte Bass und Keyboard und war ebenfalls auf der Tour dabei. Er wurde auf der Bühne als Witz von Everett als „the other guy“ (dt. der andere Typ) vorgestellt. Everett would occasionally email tracks to his bandmate Koool G Murder, asking for his input and if he wanted to contribute. Parish then flew to Los Angeles, working on most of the album in Everett's studio with Koool G Murder. Everett mentions that the album was constructed "very organically and quickly" and was finished in a matter of weeks.

E, Koool G Murder, Joey Waronker and others helped out on the disc. The "Levity" film score album, released in April, featured 2 tracks billed to EELS as well as score billed to Mark Oliver Everett, and two more songs, "Eyes Down" and "Mighty Fine Blues" were contributed to the film "Holes."
Für die zweite Veröffentlichung konnte er dann schon Koool G Murder von den Eels als Produzenten gewinnen. Die The White Buffalo EP mit sechs Titeln erschien 2005. In den folgenden Jahren wuchs seine Bekanntheit unter anderem durch Auftritte mit der Band Gomez, Ziggy Marley und Donavon Frankenreiter.
