  3. Walther Funk wurde am 18. Aug. 1890 in Trakehnen/Ostpreußen geboren. Er besuchte das Gymnasium in Insterburg und studierte dann in Leipzig Rechtswissenschaften und Volkswirtschaft mit dem Ziel, Handelsjournalist zu werden. Als Leiter des Handelsteiles der "Berliner Börsenzeitung" wirkte er im Jahre 1923 für die Beendigung der Inflation und für die Stabilisierung der deutschen Währung.
