Lennox Castle, historic seat of the Earls of Lennox and later the Lennoxes of Woodehead, chiefs of Clan Lennox. Malcolm's son was present at the coronation of Robert II of Scotland but he died two years later without male issue, and so the earldom passed through his daughter, Margaret, Countess of Lennox, to Walter de Fasselane.
Introduction. The extensive designed landscape associated with the mid-19th-century Lennox Castle retains its essential 19th-century layout despite its development as a mental hospital in the early-20th century. Features include substantial tree belts, a walled garden and the ruins of a 16th-century tower house.
Lennox Castle Hospital closed its doors in April 2002, marking the end of an era. After its closure, Lennox Castle remained vacant until a tragic event occurred. On May 19th, 2008, the castle suffered severe damage from a devastating fire. Dedicated to fostering widespread interest in the Kincaid family and Scottish heritage.

You will cross a little bridge and immediately after the bridge on the right there are 2 parking spaces and a trail head (See photos). On the other side of the road is a park and a paved walking trail. Don't take the paved trail. Follow the path until you reach the first turn off to the right. You will see a river.
