The release date and actual name of the game have not yet been announced, but speculation suggests that it will be called Anno 2025, following the release of Anno 1800 in 2019.
But i assume we'll get some more DLC first. 2205 also got more DLC after the Season Pass, and Ubisoft is pretty deep into having multiple Season passes for games nowadays. And 1800 has a lot more potential too, especially looking at the world map. There's a desert area for example that they could add a session to. 1.
30. Aug. 2023 · A New Anno Game Possibly Leaked By The German Games Fund. The document might just have confirmed the existence of next Anno title in the series. A new Anno game is likely in the works by the same team that brewed Anno 1800 four years ago. The unnamed title was leaked by a German Games Fund doc and talks about features related to the series.
All the previous Anno games came out between 29 and 54 months after the previous game. That means almost certainly the next game will be out next year, probably as early as the spring, since April 2023 is exactly 48 months after Anno 1800 was released, and the average time between releases since Anno 1503 (the second of the series) in 2002 has been 42 months.
Edit:typo. Anno -9000, Atlantis. After all, Anno has already accepted the existence of the lost city, through the ruins that you can find for your museum :) For the next it can be anything, but I really want the ninth game to be Anno 9, revolving around a little boy and his family.
Of all the Anno games, 1404 is still my favorite, so here's an idea: Era wise I wouldn't rule out revisiting time periods we've already seen. perhaps they can make a true sequel to Anno 1404 called 1530. You could have the gameplay and complexity of 1800 in a style and level of technology that builds on what was established before in 1404.
The thing is, many consider 1800 the best that the series can offer. That claim is not without merit. But some do not. And for good reasons. Imho, 1404 was the best for me, followed by 2070 and then 1800. Many people would add 1701 before 1404, again, with a good reasoning. So, if I would be the judge, after 1800 is 1701. At least for me.
