1871. 13. August: Karl Liebknecht wird als Sohn des sozialdemokratischen Politikers Wilhelm Liebknecht und dessen Frau Nathalie (geb. Reh) in Leipzig geboren. 1890-1893. Er studiert Rechtswissenschaften und Nationalökonomie an den Universitäten Leipzig und Berlin. 1893/94.
Das Gedicht „Knecht Ruprecht“ wurde von dem deutschen Lyriker Theodor Storm verfasst, der von 1817 bis 1888 lebte. Es lässt sich somit dem 19. Jahrhundert zuordnen, genauer dem Realismus. Der erste Eindruck des Gedichts ist, dass es eine festliche und zugleich auch mahnende Atmosphäre hat.

Karl Paul August Friedrich Liebknecht (German: [ˈliːpknɛçt] ⓘ; 13 August 1871 – 15 January 1919) was a German socialist and anti-militarist. A member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) beginning in 1900, he was one of its deputies in the Reichstag from 1912 to 1916, where he represented the left-revolutionary wing of the party.

He was the first member of parliament to vote against the financing of the war. On 1 May 1916 he was arrested and imprisoned for giving an anti-war speech in central Berlin.
